Salvage I

I have always been a scavenger. As a child, I prowled alleys and skips, rifling through the remains in search of discarded hardware that I would hoard, assemble, and reassemble into mechanical sequences. Photography has become my primary form of scavenging, though some piece of metal or plastic still inevitably finds its way into my rucksack and onto a studio shelf, where it enters a state of continual rearrangement. I fossick through the remnants of the North’s industrial past, working on a series of open‑ended projects and producing zines at a prolific rate - some thematic, others pursuing their own narrative paths and ignoring the false silos of any single project. The images in Salvage I are a mixture of my own film and digital photographs, found images and papers. These were then manipulated by photocopying, scanning, folding, tearing, collaging, taping etc. Part of an ongoing series of zines. A5, 48 pages, 48 images. Riso printed, stab bound with waxed red thread. Context Natural 100 gsm body and covers. Edition of 30 produced in April 2026.
