Red Horse

Winner of the Grand Prix Images Vevey 2023/2024 and the 2026 Kraszna-Krausz Photography Book Award, Red Horse is an ongoing project Sasha Kurmaz launched after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. It takes the form of a visual diary of daily collages built from personal documentary photos, found images, notes, drawings and things found on the street, conveying the artist's personal testimony about life in Ukraine as it is constantly reshaped by war — his own life and the lives of people around him trying to survive in constant danger.
