Sultangazi is a district in the north west of Istanbul. It is divided into three neighbourhoods: Habibler, Gazi and Sultançiftliği. The name of “Sultangazi” comes from the “Sultan” part of Sultançiftliği (meaning farm of the Sultan) and the neighbourhood of Gazi, with “gazi” being the Turkish word for a venerated veteran of war.
