Gustafsson’s practice oscillates between abstraction and documentary. Drawing on a vast personal archive, he reworks his photographs through blurring, superimposition or contrast, questioning the materiality of images and the memories they evoke. For him, seeing becomes a sensory act: a way of inhabiting light, textures and traces of everyday life.
