Much of my time is spent pulling over, stopping, wondering, replaying the scene in my head, and walking back, or more often than not, driving on for a minute or two, heading steadfastly to my destination, only to then look for a side road, or patch of dirt, to turn around at and go back. To look. To photograph. To record. These places on the way to somewhere else. The ‘somewhere else’ that I have to go to, making work.
