Almost everywhere I photographed between 2015 and 2018 was filled with an air of desolation.
In that period, I made over 80 trips, each one alone, searching out the past, looking for signs of stories told to me or histories read about.
Always trying to reconcile the seemingly peaceful present of where I was standing, with the terrible and violent past I was photographing. Something in which I had no success at and plays on my mind, constantly.
Everywhere that I made work, I was watched. Stray dogs, people walking home from factories, wary eyes judging me over a fence.
Looking back on work made on the road since 2019, much of it is now shrouded in what was to come. A future waiting in the wings, ready to devour.
