in the midday silver

“This project served as an antidote to the introspection and anguish that I was feeling during that time. The making of these images, gave me the space and focus to look outside of myself again and reconnect with and find joy in, the beauty of the world around me. When the world offers us these glimmers, it demands we pay attention, drawing us outside of ourselves; and for a moment, we are healed, finding reconnection and meaning that allows us to once again, begin.” _Sal Taylor Kydd “In the midday silver” is based on work developed during a residency in Italy in 2024, following the loss of the artist’s father and brother within a short span of time. Moving through this period, the artist immersed herself in writing and photography, using the process to find a way to sustain herself. The book is structured as a sequence in which poems and photographs alternate, tracing the rhythm and sensations of moving through a time of loss. Limited to hand-bound 300 copies, each book includes an original print by the artist. 2026 19.5 × 25.5 cm 90 pages Softcover / French-fold & Korean traditional hand-stitch binding / Tritone UV printing * Includes one original print (signed and numbered) - A Flickering, 2023, Archival pigment print, 5×4 in.
