Building on Tace Stevens’ commissioned series, We Were Just Little Boys tells the story of the Survivors of Kinchela Boys Home. This state-run institution was the site of unimaginable trauma and pain, as little boys were ripped from families and communities, imprisoned in a school and had their culture denied. With written contributions from surviving Uncles, and writing from the CEO of the Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation, this book is collaborative, grief-filled and advocates for the need for deep healing. Tace was the winner of the Tall Poppy Press Open Call in 2024.
