What does the AI say? Unclear and mysterious. Things that are hard to fathom, secretive, or unknown. The word derives from the Latin *obscurus*, which originally meant "dark, covered, or unclear." Common synonyms: dubious, suspect, unsavory, strange, enigmatic... If we set aside the "dark, unsavory, and suspect" connotations, we get closer to the essence of these photos. The "obscure" quality often emerges only through the peculiar combination of photos on a double-page spread. Sometimes it is the colors; at other times, the subjects themselves. Mundane. Strange. Beautiful.
