Lenain's first monograph is an intimate portrait of queer Muslim life in France, where faith and desire meet under conditions of erasure. It began as a homage to her late uncle Farid, who grew up gay in a Muslim Algerian family, and widened into a collective portrait of community. Its dreamlike colour portraits move between visibility and concealment.
