Published in conjunction with the landmark exhibition “Sverre Bjertnæs – Hjem, hengt opp av Fredrik Værslev” at Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium, this extensive catalogue offers a rich presentation of the work of Sverre Bjertnæs, one of Norway’s most prominent contemporary painters and sculptors. Curated by artist Fredrik Værslev, the exhibition filled all four floors of the Main Building in the spring of 2024, marking the first time Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium dedicated its main exhibition to a single artist. The catalogue, edited by Værslev, provides a comprehensive look at Bjertnæs’ practice, featuring around 40 paintings and sculptures—both new and old—assembled in an experimental and dynamic manner.
