Edition of 25 Signed and Numbered 250 × 350 mm 48 pages Self-published Includes 1 large risograph print on Awagami paper. Each copy is entirely handmade — without shortcuts, without automation, without distance between maker and object. Every step intentional, fully lived. The pages are risograph printed using Japanese soy ink on Awagami, Washi and recycled paper. They are bound in the traditional Japanese stab-binding method and sewn with waxed thread. The covers are constructed from hand-cut and hand-glued Noren hemp fabric, screen printed with acrylic ink. Noren (暖簾) are cloth dividers commonly found hanging in the doorways of Japanese bathhouses, restaurants and inns. Their function extends beyond the practical. Noren is a psychological threshold. When one passes through it — whether consciously understood or not — a change occurs. It is like stepping through a portal, akin to passing beneath a temple gate at a sacred site. One leaves the unconscious momentum living and enters another register of being, where the breath flows differently. This book is conceived as such a threshold. Each copy is unique and the colors of the fabric vary. Note that you will recieve one at random when purchasing.
